About Our School
The Mountain Home School District implemented the Guy Berry College and Career Academy Program (GBCCA), in an effort to meet the varying needs of the District’s wide range of learners. It is the school’s mission to prepare its students for LIFE and to help make them successful, contributing citizens when they enter the workforce or his/her post-secondary endeavors. In order to accomplish this, the program is designed to be an intervention program for grades 5 through 12, to meet not only the students’ academic needs, but also their emotional and social needs.
Currently, we have 10 teachers, serving 75 total students through varied learning opportunities. In addition to providing core academic courses, our students also receive hands-on learning experience through our Greenhouse Project and various gardening projects, including an aqua-ponics growing system. Our students designed and built a chicken coop, and have started a small-scale egg-laying operation, with plans to donate eggs to the food bank.
